TIRANA, Albania (AP) — Albania's leader on Sunday conceded citizenship to English pop star of Albanian beginning Dua Lipa for what he said was the craftsman's part in spreading Albanians' distinction globally through her music.

President Bajram Begaj said Lipa was conceded citizenship in front of Albania's 110th commemoration of freedom from the Ottoman Domain.

Begaj said he thought of it as a distinction to do so in light of the fact that Lipa has put Albanians on the map all through the world.

"I will be an Albanian with papers as well," Lipa said prior to making her citizenship vow at Tirana city corridor.

Lipa was brought into the world in London in 1995 to migrant Albanian guardians Anesa and Dukagjin Lipa from Kosovo.

Lipa, who began singing at five years of age, was artistically impacted by her dad, a previous vocalist and guitarist of a musical crew.

She began to post her tunes in YouTube when she was 14. Her most memorable presentation studio collection was delivered in 2017.

In 2019 she won the Grammy Grant for Best New Craftsman.
